Ricahard Tallach discovered these
unpublished tunes at the bottom of a pipe box when he purchased his Lawrie pipes
off a Mrs.Helen Brand. The pipes had belonged to her late husband, Andrew
Brand.
One of the tunes, dated 28.1.38, was nameless, and
I named it after Andrew Brand, who had been in a pipe band with the composer
as pipe major.
Tam Imrie, was the Pipe Major of the Methil
Colliery Pipe Band. |
