Secondary Instrument: Harmonica (or moothy) and whistles
Occupation: Currently working with Tartan TV a TV production company that produces a weekly magazine programme for North American and Canadian cable and satellite stations. www.tartan.tv
Hobbies: Traditional music, song writing, pipe music composition and New Media development.
Compositions: I have composed a number pipe tunes and songs over the years. Tunes such as Ian MacKenzie’s Farewell to the Clyde and Robert A MacKenzie of Bruichladdich have been played by Grade One Bands. Other composition including The King’s Waltz, Marie McNiven of Ardfern and Lorna MacKillop’s Schottische have been played and recorded by various folk bands in Scotland and Switzerland.
Type of Bagpipes own and use: 100 year old Hendersons.
Band: I left the pipe band scene 8 years ago, having played for over 20 years starting with; Knightswood Juveniles, Babcock Renfrew under PM Iain MacLeod and PM Jim Henderson, Toyota under PM Hugh McInnes and latterly The City of Glasgow Pipes and Drums under my pal PM David Wotherspoon.
